Physiotherapy

Physiotherapy plays a vital role in pain relief, rehabilitation and injury prevention. Dependent upon your problem, we have expertise in the following specialist areas and appointment are available in Summertown, Headington and in the City Centre. Soft tissue therapy massage may be included as part of your physiotherapy rehabilitation or may also be booked as a separate appointment.

Musculoskeletal Conditions

Musculoskeletal disorders are injuries or pain in the body’s joints, ligaments, muscles, nerves, tendons, and structures that support limbs, neck and back. They can affect many different parts of the body and can arise from a sudden exertion (e.g., lifting a heavy object), a postural issue or a repetitive motion. Examples of specific disorders are carpal tunnel syndrome or back pain.

Sports Injuries

Sports injuries are injuries that occur during an athletic activity. They can result from acute trauma, or from overuse of a particular body part. Overuse and repetitive stress injury problems associated with sports include runner’s knee or tennis elbow.

Women’s Health

Women’s Health Physiotherapy is the therapeutic treatment of all disorders affecting the pelvis and pelvic floor, from incontinence to prolapse, pelvic pain or constipation.

Neurology Conditions

Neurological Physiotherapy can assist with disorders of the nervous system, including such conditions as Parkinson’s, Multiple Sclerosis, Stroke or Spinal Cord Injury. Please contact ON Physio for further information and enquiries.

Osteoporosis

Osteoporosis is a progressive disease resulting in a reduction in the mass and density of bone and physiotherapy can assist in advising strengthening exercises and activity that can reduce it’s effect.

Orthopaedic and Post-operative Rehabilitation

Orthopaedic Physiotherapy specialises in the treatment of patients undergoing planned surgery (elective) or those who are admitted to hospital due to a traumatic accident or incident.

Home Visits

We can also provide Physiotherapy home visits if you are unable to attend the clinic due to your medical condition or are recovering from an injury or operation.

Soft Tissue Massage Therapy

Whether you are training hard or working hard it is important to look after our bodies. Therefore we are pleased to offer a soft tissue massage service to relieve muscular tension throughout the body. This can be an important part of your preparation for a sports event or as part of a rehabilitation programme. The soft tissue therapy is delivered by one of our experienced massage therapists who work closely with both our Physiotherapists, Pilates and Yoga Instructors to get you back on track as quickly as possible!
